HONOLULU (HI Now) - For 46 years YWCA Oʻahu has taken the lead on recognizing the women in our local community making extraordinary contributions and creating lasting positive impacts.
The first LeaderLuncheon took place in 1977 when YWCA Oʻahu honored five of Hawaii’s inspiring women leaders. For four decades, YWCA Oʻahu has taken the lead and were the very first of its kind to recognize women in our local community who are making extraordinary contributions and creating lasting positive impacts.
Since the first event, the LeaderLuncheon has honored 199 outstanding women throughout the community. And this year as we add four more women to the prestigious LeaderLuncheon Academy...we will also be marking another milestone as our list of honorees surpasses the 200 mark.
Our 2023 honorees include:
- Meredith Ching
- Dr. Ruth Fletcher
- Shelee Kimura
- Stella Wong
LeaderLuncheon is YWCA Oʻahu’s traditional spring fundraiser, which brings the community together each year to support the nonprofit’s programs for women from all backgrounds. More details will be announced on the YWCA Oʻahu website. The 46th Annual LeaderLuncheon will be at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel on Thursday, May 11, 2023, 12 noon-1:30 p.m.
