Residents at 15 Craigside and Arcadia are all given an iPad and Echo Dots when they move in. Voice technology is used to access community information as well as controlling the environment around the apartment to make things easier and more convenient.
“Using voice technology, they can simply ask Alexa things like: What’s today’s date? Or what’s the news? Or what’s the weather like?” says Chief Information Officer Michael Chong. “We’ve also connected the Echo Dot to our resident engagement platform. They can even ask Alexa specific community information.”
Calling for help and smart apartments also add to Arcadia’s safety protocols for residents who live in its communities.
“It can make the difference in providing assistance to that resident in minutes versus hours,” Chong adds.
Residents go through a demo, which provides installation of the devices and training on how to use them. The IT Team at Arcadia Family of Companies provides ongoing support 24 hours a day, seven days a week for residents so they can be of service whenever there are any questions.
