Chef Chai whips up some spicy garlic prawns on linguini zucchini

Chef Chai is giving us a lesson on how to make Spicy Garlic Pepper Black Tiger Prawns on Linguini Zucchini. Substituting zucchini noodles for rice is an easy way to get a serving of vegetables in and also keep a healthy diet.

Recipe: Spicy Garlic Pepper Black Tiger Prawns on Linguini Zucchini

Ingredients:

8 pieces black tiger prawns 8/12 pieces per lb. size (about 8 oz., can be any size)

1.5 oz. vegetable oil

1 tablespoon chopped garlic

2 oz. sliced red onion

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 oz. Maggi or Soy Sauce or Salt (adjust according to the brand)

1 oz. chicken stock or hot water

2 oz. cilantro

2 cups shredded Zucchini

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 oz. chicken stock or water

Salt and pepper to taste

 

Directions for Garlic Shrimp:

1) With medium high heat, add vegetable oil, shrimp and garlic and sauté for a couple minutes or until the shrimp are cooked 75 percent through

2) Add onion, black pepper, and cook for 30 seconds

3) Add shoyu and chicken stock

4) Sauté for another minute turn heat off and add cilantro

 

Directions for the Zucchini:

1) With medium high heat, add oil and zucchini and sauté for a minute

2) Add chicken stock and season with salt and pepper to taste and cook for another minute

3) Place zucchini on the bottom of the plate and place the garlic shrimp on top
